Actuon AX150-750 Motion Actuator
The AX150-750 is an electromechanical linear actuator developed specifically for dynamic simulation. It is the actuator COG builds its own motion systems around, engineered for platforms that run under load, day after day, and are judged on how they feel rather than on a datasheet.
Each unit is supplied complete with its 750 W AC servo motor, ready to be integrated into a multi-actuator motion platform.

Naming
Actuon actuators are named by stroke and motor power. AX150-750 is a 150 mm stroke actuator fitted with a 750 W servo motor. Other strokes and power ratings follow the same pattern.

Built for intensive use
A motion actuator in a simulator is not asked to make one precise move. It is asked to make thousands of small, fast, reversing moves per session, indefinitely, while carrying a person. That duty is what the AX150-750 was built around.
The structural build combines steel and aluminium, keeping the body rigid without adding unnecessary moving mass. The 50 mm main shaft gives the unit substantial section where the load actually passes through it. Industrial-grade bearings and an internal bearing guidance system carry the lateral loads that appear whenever a platform moves off a single axis — which, on a motion platform, is constantly.
Lateral stability and internal guidance
The internal guidance system is the part most people never see and most notice. In a multi-actuator platform each actuator is loaded off-axis by the movement of every other actuator. Guidance handled internally, on bearings, is what keeps that lateral loading from turning into play, and play is what a driver feels as vagueness long before it becomes a mechanical problem.
Dynamic response
150 mm of stroke at up to 250 mm/s, driven by a 750 W AC servo motor, gives the platform room to express sustained movement and the speed to deliver sharp transitions. In simulation the transitions carry most of the information — kerb strikes, surface changes, the first moment of a slide — and they are only convincing if the actuator can start and reverse cleanly.
Native integration with the Actuon Ecosystem
The AX150-750 is designed to be driven by the Actuon8 Motion Controller and configured through Actuon Control Manager. Because COG builds the actuator, the control electronics and the software, integration is a configuration step rather than an engineering project: the controller already knows what it is driving.
The architecture scales. Four actuators for a 3DOF platform, seven for the COG 6DOF architecture, driven from a single Actuon8 with up to eight control channels.

Scope of supply and support
COG supplies control electronics, control wiring, software and the AX150-750 actuator. Servo drives, mechanical structure and host PC are not supplied by COG.
The Actuon control layer is validated for use with the AASD-15A servo drive, a single technical reference assembled by several suppliers. COG publishes reference configuration parameters and connection guidance for it. Beyond that:
- COG does not supply the AASD-15A.
- COG provides no warranty on the AASD-15A or any third-party drive or structure.
- COG provides no technical support for the AASD-15A itself — firmware, internal parameters beyond the values we publish, faults or RMA.
COG support covers: the AX150-750 actuator, the Actuon8, the Actuon-SIB, COG control wiring and Actuon Control Manager.

Is the servo motor included?
Yes. Each AX150-750 ships with its 750 W AC servo motor fitted.
What does the name mean?

How many do I need?
Four for a 3DOF platform. Seven for the COG 6DOF architecture. Belt tensioner configurations do not use the AX150-750.
Do I also need servo drives?
