Actuon Ecosystem — Commercial Use

Commercial licensing for the Actuon Ecosystem. Available by agreement — contact COG to discuss your application.

Standard Actuon products purchased through this store are supplied for private, non-commercial use. If you intend to use Actuon technology as part of a business, you need a commercial licence. This page is where that conversation starts.

When you need this

A commercial licence applies when the product forms part of an economic activity. In practice that means:

• Simulation centres, arcades and entertainment venues
• Driver training and professional training facilities
• Event companies and mobile installations
• Pay-per-session or membership-based operation
• Systems installed in premises open to the public
• Integration into a product or service you sell to third parties
• Universities and research centres that operate the installation commercially
• Resale, distribution or OEM manufacturing

It does not apply to personal use of your own system, or to occasional use by family and guests without charge.

What a commercial licence covers

Scope is defined per agreement, because a two-seat training room and an OEM programme are not the same problem. Depending on your application it can include:

• Commercial right of use for Actuon hardware and software
• Actuon Control Manager Professional Edition licensing
• Defined number of units, seats or sites
• SDK and API access
• Integration and commissioning support
• Professional support terms
• Volume supply and forecasting
• Distribution or OEM terms where applicable

What it does not transfer

A commercial licence is a right of use. It does not transfer:

• Internal communication protocol
• Firmware or source code
• Schematics, PCB files or bill of materials
• Manufacturing documentation
• Ownership of any intellectual property
• The right to sublicense to third parties, unless expressly agreed

The four commercial models

Hardware Supply — for manufacturers and integrators using Actuon hardware commercially: Actuon8 with the Actuon-SIB safety module, AX150-750 actuators and COG control wiring, under a commercial use agreement.

Actuon Professional — the full COG stack: hardware, Actuon Control Manager Professional Edition, diagnostics, motion tuning, SDK and API, commissioning and professional support.

OEM — for manufacturers integrating Actuon on a recurring basis: volume supply, software licensing, runtime terms, lifecycle, NRE and minimum commitments.

Custom Integration — for companies running proprietary software, simulators or middleware. COG performs the integration work.

Scope of supply

COG supplies control electronics, control wiring, actuators and software. Servo drives, servo motors, mechanical structure and host systems are not supplied by COG and carry no COG warranty or support. The Actuon control layer is validated for use with the AASD-15A servo drive, a single technical reference assembled by several suppliers.

Frequently asked questions

I bought an Actuon8 in the store. Can I use it in my simulation centre?
Not under the standard purchase. Standard products are supplied for private, non-commercial use. Contact us and we will convert your situation to the appropriate commercial terms.

Does buying more units make me a reseller?
No. Quantity is not the criterion. Resale as a professional or recurring activity requires a distribution agreement, regardless of volume.

Can I sell my own used unit?
Yes. Occasional private sale of your own unit is fine, provided you stop using the associated software and tell us so the licence and support record can be transferred.

Do I get the protocol or firmware with a commercial licence?
No. COG supplies finished, supported products and, where relevant, SDK and API access. Internal protocol and firmware are never part of the supply.

How is it priced?
Per agreement. It depends on the model, the volume and the support level. Tell us what you are building.
